The idea of building a business, like Professional Medic Training & Events Ltd. (aka: PMTE), began to percolate in 2008 when one of our own stood in the hospital room beside a loved one and watched as the health care system showed areas needing improvement. Rather than sitting back to complain and do nothing, we saw an opportunity to help. Fast forward a few years and many many hours spent training, learning, and developing, Professional Medic Training & Events Ltd. was born.
Around 2013, we began teaching courses to EMS and offering medical standby to various local organizations who were coordinating motocross and equestrian events in various parts of Alberta. Our company continued to grow over the years, which led us to opening our doors as an official incorporated business in 2014. The number and types of courses we offered continued to grow, as did the number and types of events we supported. Our locations varied from Edmonton to Lethbridge, Medicine Hat to Calgary, and many places in between.
Getting back to the hospital room, and the seed that was planted on that unforgettable day...this business was founded on wanting to provide the very best for our customers, understanding the trust that is put into our hands each and everyday. Whether it be through teaching a course to the lay person who is learning to better care for a loved one of their own; or the employee who requires a course for employment reasons; whether it is providing medical standby to a community just looking to have fun at a local event; or the business who has a variety of needs (meeting OH&S requirements with certified First Aiders and/or providing job site medical standby) - our vision remains the same.

Although, it was only the patient, their family, and the staff in the hospital room that day, the negative impact rippled out and was felt by so many more. Instead of complaining, we choose to BE the difference! That's who we are at Professional Medic Training & Events Ltd. (aka: PMTE 😉)!
Why do we have 2 logos?
Excellent question! We're glad you asked! In the beginning when our company started to roll itself out, some of our first actions were teaching First Aid & CPR courses - so our logo (the one with the briefcase) seemed fitting. It was not long after, however, we noticed a trend towards also being asked to help provide medical standby at various events...often times requiring our EMS level of training. Therefore, the second logo came a few years later when we wanted to distinguish ourselves as higher trained medical professionals at those events (not to mention we sometimes got lost in the crowd with our initial logo). Once we established two different logos for the various parts of our business, we realized people may not recognize us if they saw the logo they were less familiar with. SO, we amalgamated them essentially into one! We love them both! Our logos mean a great deal to us and have come to represent a trusted name and image over the years. Our desire is for everyone who sees our logo to feel safe and know they are with a company they can trust!
